Goslings don't seem to want to swim.

I have 3 geese that are about 2 weeks old and 8 ducks the same age.  The ducks can't help but go swimming as soon as they see water.  The geese come to the edge and dip their head in and bathe outside of the pool.  I thought that they would really love to get in and splash but they don't seem to at all.  It is just an observation not a concern.  Once the ducks start splashing the geese get the zoomies though.

One amazing wife, 3 kids, an American Buff gander, 2 American Buff goose goslings, 1Embden gosling, 3 Toulouse goslings, 3 adult and 4 duckling pekins, 1 WR rooster, 5 WR hens, 1 buff orpington, 1 old beloved mix breed hen, a bunch of chicks for the freezer, ducklings hatching in the incubator, 2 barn cats, and a red standard poodle.

I have two embdens that are 4 weeks old today and they dont really swim. They prefer to float while the ducklings zoom around and around them in circles. Apparently they are too dignified to zoom. lol.png

I have four geese and if one gets in the others are likely to follow. But there is one that once she gets in, she'll dive underwater and swim like a crazy and scare all the other geese out. And then she'll pop out and look around as if to say, "what? why'd y'all go???" lol.png They mostly just bob around like corks, and occasionally dip under to clean themselves. smile.png
