Dear Turkeys, you rock. That is all. -love, Farmer lady - Page 2

A lot depends on where you live... In our area you are lucky to get $10 for a grown bird.  I once listed some ducks and asked $5 each.  One lady called and wanted them dressed and delivered for that price.  She was the only one that called...

I have to agree... broiler chickens are just nasty.  My BB turkeys will follow me around and talk to me.  Sometimes while weeding the garden I hear a noise and look up to find them all gathered and talking amongst themselves.  They were probably trying to figure out why I was throwing perfectly good food in a pile.  On the other hand, the broiler chickens are a lot easier to process.  Just because I don't have an emotional attachment.

There are to places. One is the http://www.foothillspilotplant.com/ which is in the mountains and just opened. Probably closest to you. They don't to ground. Then there is Chaudry's in Siler City. THey have been in business awhile and do ground turkey if you want. They also freeze while foothills plant does not freeze.
