Time for a brand new type of contest!!   They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so a video must be worth WAY more than that, right?  

 

Well, let's get those video / digital cameras out and take some fun videos to share with the world our love of raising backyard chickens, as well as some helpful info on why and how you raise a pet that makes you breakfast!

 

Upload your video to YouTube and post it here.  We'll choose the best ones that qualify and then choose winners!

 

1st Place:  $50 Amazon Gift Certificate

2nd Place: 1 Year GFM for you or a friend (two peeps will qualify)

3rd Place: 6 Month GFM for you or a friend (two peeps will qualify)
 

Rules:

  1. Your video must be uploaded to Youtube
  2. The video must be at least 3 minutes long
  3. Needs to have “How To Raise Chickens - ….” In the title
  4. Title can / should have additional specific keywords for your video, for example:
    1. How To Raise Chickens – The benefits of raising chickens
    2. How To Raise Chickens – Building a chicken coop
    3. How To Raise Chickens – What to feed your chickens
    4. How To Raise Chickens – Incubating eggs.
    5. Etc.
  5. The video text description must start with the following:  “More info at http://www.BackYardChickens.com …”
  6. At the end of the video you must say or have text that shows “For more info, visit www.BackYardChickens.com”
  7. Contest will end once we have at least 20 submissions

Once your video is complete, reply to this thread with your video embedded into the post.

This is why I raise a pet that makes me breakfast. It is a friendship the excitement of eggs hatching. The guessing game rather a rooster or hen. Watching the feathers grow. Waiting for the rooster to crow. Waiting for all the hens to lay. look at the chicks. look out for the double yolk egg. First come First serve . I love eggs and raising a pet that makes me breakfast.

What a great idea, being new to this I found BYC by searching for info on Google on building a coop and raising a BY flock. The info is scattered and disorganized, except for here at BYC.

 

Now I can use YouTube and simply search 'How to Raise Chickens" or "www.backyardchickens.com" and get informative, fun videos on how best to start with backyard chickens. Love it! Can't wait to see all the entries!

oops can I put up another video I loaded the wrong one sorry .thanks to another member I have learned to post video's and I love it. I like to watch every ones video's of there chickens and hear there stories. It just brings the picture alive. Thanks byc for this opportunity.
