Well after wanting Ducks for YEARS literally I have broken down and gotten 5 ducks. I love just sitting and watching them.

They are about 5-6 weeks old and so adorable! Always have loved ducks :)

I always felt bad that we didn't have a HUGE lake for them is the reason I didn't get them.....but I see so many people with just kiddy pools for them and their ducks are happy...so I gave in!

My husband is like "oh gawd" , but they are the cutest things. They aren't very friendly kinda run when I get near, but hopefully with treats that will change...

Trying to find some young ducklings to raise myself or maybe even hatch some eggs to raise so that they are spoiled like all our goats, chickens, dogs, turkeys and chickens

What kind did you get?  I love ducks,,and geese, and.  You get the idea.  I bought eggs and hatched my runner ducks, they are kind of skittish, the big white ducks I bought at TSC, they aren't nearly as skittish as the runners, but the most friendly ducks I have are the muscovy, I bought the first pair as younguns from a swap and hatched out 2 of their eggs this year and both are the friendliest ducks I've ever had.  I've got a baby runner thatI hatched with the chicks and he runs when he sees me, the 2 muscovies come to greet me when I come to the brooder.  They like to be petted and don't mind being picked up.  Their daddy even lets me pet him.  Make sure they are able to get in & out of the pool, they will love it.  The muscovies don't seem to use the pools as much as the other ducks do.

They are mallards.....I am hoping to pick up 4 week old muscovy ducks this week to raise.

The mallards I have are 6 weeks and probably didn't get much attention. But I figure with time they will learn that I am friendly and not going to hurt. I have read treats are the trick, so I will definitely be using that to my advantage. They have a ramp they can use....have yet to see them in the pool though...they just seem to like drinking out of it lol
