OK, I'm new to this, I need all the help I can get! Last year I hatched three button quail out of 10. Not very good. My two males died one at about six months, he was pecked, my fault for not Knowing I had two males. I thought one was a female but I was wrong. The other male died about three months ago. I just found him looking like he was sleeping. So I just have my female left. She is laying (unfertilized) eggs and sitting on them until they don't hatch and then she gives up. I'm not taking them from until she gives up because I don't want her to stop trying. She is so lonely. I tried a month ago to hatch some more eggs that I ordered off of eBay. I had none hatch. I opened them after 25 days. I just wanted to be sure. Five were fertile. Two of them began to developed but only a little. So If anyone can tell me what to do about my problem I would really appreciate it. I do have two thermometers and hygrometers. The incubator is a hova bator still air and I don't have an egg turner. Please help, Heather

Help Please
well first off
there are a few ways to go around this. first off where are you located, there are button breeders all on this forum, most of which with to many males. someone might be able to get you one if you want to try having your button hatch her own eggs.
other then that i'd check out the stickies at the top of the quail forum, read thru them and soak in some info. there is a breeder directory in there as well.
if you want to try hatching eggs again i'd check out this site www.stellar-gamebirds.com she is a member on byc and has hatched and raised thousands of quails.
hope it helps, don't stop trying i'd get some eggs from that site and try again.

I'm in Gardner's, PA which is near Gettysburg,PA if that helps you visualize my location. I would like to just get her a male if I can but I"m not having much luck. I have been looking for a month. If I can't find a male soon I will probably try hatching again after further research. Thanks for the help, Heather
