Thank you, we think she is beautiful.  We have turkens, too and think they are gorgeous and the nicest birds!

Have you ever been in a chicken show, and did you ever win anything? I will deffinately do it again. My favorite part was the auction after, and the raffle thing. I bid on and got a Capon, my two show Leghorns, and three Mottled Javas chickswoot.gif.

Sorry for not responding sooner, because of the time difference, it was way past my bedtime :)

I have been to a couple chicken shows but have never been entered in any.  I purchased show silkies for my sons to show but somewhere along the way, my birds were infected with Marek's disease.  Our dreams of showing, vanished :(  Now all chicks that we buy must be vaccinated.  It's a horrible disease.

Even with all that, we still love our chickens :)

I am so sorry that your Silkies died! hit.gifThat is very sad! I have a couple Silkies, and Silkie mixes. I used to have a really really mean rooster Silkie named chicken little, but are neighbors dog got out and got him. I was very sad even though he was mean. sad.png At least we have three of his babies, and the rooster baby we named Chicken Little Junior, and he is a brat too LOL.

I hope our chickens never get Mareks disease. I heard that if you have a Turkey with the chickens they won't get Mareks disease. old.gif I like this old man! LOL

I love that little man also :)

Thanks, sorry your neighbor didn't keep his dog under control.  That makes me angry.  I'm glad you have some of his babies, though.  For some reason, that helps me when I know that I still have a little piece left.

I've heard about the turkeys, too but then I read a thread on here that someone with turkeys had a problem with Marek's, so I guess you just never know.

I just hope that I can get this disease under control.  I'm tired of having funerals and burying chickens.
