Chicken ordinance for Fernley, Nevada

Thread Starter

Hi all,

Recently moved to Fernley, Nevada and would like to raise some hens for eggs.  Does anyone know if it's ok to have some in my back yard, or who I can call to find out?

Thank you for your help!

I have been to Fernley...I cannot imagine there is a law against chickens.  Maybe call the humane society?  They might point you in right direction of who to call.

Do you have CC&R's for your neighborhood?

I would be interested to know if you ever got an answer to this question as I live in Fernley and just recently bought some chickens, converted our little shed to a coop and am working on the run now. I have 2 goslings too that will get their own enclosure soon. I know a few people who have chickens in their backyard but they don't have the answer either.

Thank you for any information.

I am a single mother with 1 teenage son, my mother lives with us and we have 6 quirky cats (3 male, 3 female), 20 chickens (not sure how many girls or boys yet) 2 silky soft rabbits (one male one female) and 2 goslings.

Life is one challenge after another so why not have fun with it.
