BARRED ROCK :: ROOSTER OR HEN? HELP! - Page 3

Blackie is not a pure barred rock rooster. But he is cute. smile.png

I have a 20 week old cockerel that still hasn't crowed. He is extremely quiet. Not all roosters crow that young. Some crow as early as 6 weeks, some never crow. I do have one that has not crowed a day in his life, and he is 2 years old.

Thank you for all the condolences and all the support and donations given to help us rebuild. You are all so special to us.

Please READ my thread about FIRE SAFETY. Trying to save as many others from the little mistakes that cost me everything.

My Polish crows very infrequently and not too loudly, which is good because we live next door to the neighborhood chicken narc.

my 8 week old BR roo let out his first attempt at crowing yesterday.. he then proceeded to practice for the majority of the day. He's been quiet since. perhaps got it out of his system for a bit. :)
