She is a fantastic mama! She comes out of the nest box even less than she did when she was just setting eggs. And when she does, she goes back in almost immediately because the baby stands outside the box cheeping as loud as you please for Mama to come back! It is precious! love.gif

I was not expecting this to happen at all. I was thinking of MAYBE hatching out some of my own NEXT spring...when my "chicken legs" are a little stronger and I would be more confident (and, honestly, more prepared if I failed). And when Maxine went broody, I was hopeful, but un-expecting. What an absolute thrill to have experienced this!

So cute i wish i had a rooster so my hens could be able to hatch an egg

She is a great mom! I could just watch them all day. They are amazing!
And guess what? Brand new baby came today from second broody, Juliet!
I am beside myself! Will start new thread with pics if I can figure out how to do it from this phone! LOL
if not it wily l be later from PC and camera.
