I bought two bantam chicks from TSC to put under a broodie hen.  For the first couple of weeks the feathers were black, black comb, legs and beak.  Any ideas on what kind it might be?

P.S.  The feathers are now black with some golden/tan feathers coming in.

if the feet bottoms are yellow i would say a bantam sumatra  are the feathers still black?

No, they are now black with some golden tan mixed in.  I will have to try to catch it to see the bottom of the feet.

Did my picture post ok?

I am also worried it is a cockerel... I checked the wing feathers at a day old, and it appeared to be a pullet.  The comb is flat, but a little bit wide.  The wings are long.  The tail feathers look long and thin to me. : (

Any input would be welcomed and appreciated.

The chick is a gold seabright.

Thank you! What confused me was that it was an entirely black chick for the first 2 weeks. Do you think it is a cockerel?
