Could this all wire cage be used for Coturnix quail?

I was thinking of getting 3 coturnix quail and was trying to figure out where they could live.  I have an all wire cage, and was wondering if there was anyway I could use it for coturnix quail.  I'm sure they need a place to stay out of the sun, wind, rain, and snow.  I am also worried about raccoons reaching through the wire and pulling of legs, wings, and necks.  Maybe I could somehow attach some wood and build a three sided wooden wall on it?  I need help figuring out if it could be used, and if it can, how I can make it work.

Here are the pictures, they didn't come out good, though.  It is an all wire cage that is lifted off the ground an inch or two.

It is 2' by 3'

EDIT:  It has two doors, one on the back (outlined by blue rubber) and one on the side (too hard to see in pictures)

simply put. yes.

But if it were me i would build a sort of stand for it, maybe wrap it in 1/2" hardware cloth to keep prying hands away. 3 sides would be nice thats for sure, always wanna give them a corner to get to incase of rain, predators, wind, cold and the like.

Wife, 2 sons, 2 dogs, 2 Coturnix Quails, and  4 Black & Mottled Bantam Cochins. Getting ready to move to France, pm me if you live over there!

So maybe use a staple gun to staple it to a wooden frame (With legs), then add 3 walls (I'll probably cover up a door in that case, which is fine), and a slanted roof?  I'll add somethings in there for them to get off the wire if they want to give their feet a break.  On the one side that will be wire, I'll try to add the 1/2" hardware cloth.

yea, its a good base, just needs a little more covering, I'd definitely work with it.

Sounds like you have a great start on it.  That should work very nicely.
