Is this a male black sex link? - Page 2

tbitt if they were black sex links you would be correct. Like dretd said "BR pullets got mixed in with the sexlinks in the bin at the vendors (really common to see chicks in the wrong bins at feed stores)." Yep ChickenLisa3, except for the comb they pretty much look the same.
I've got Bielefelders, Rhodebars, Cream Legbars, Black Sex Links, Buff Orpingtons, and a lone I Don't Know (packing peanut from greenfire).

Here is a pic of them as babies.  Some of them had a white spot on their head.

If they were sex links, pullets do not have the head spots.  The seller should have known that. (unless it was a feed store where the help is often untrained) You cannot sell sex link pullet chicks with head spots, that is an oxymoron.  Only cockerel sex links have head spots.

Barred Rocks, however, pullets and cockerels both, can have and usually do have head spots.  The shape of the BR chick head spot is used in determining their sex.

For certain, the cockerels will begin to crow, at least some of them will, within a few weeks and at about 20-22 weeks, the pullets will be laying small, starter eggs.  Time will tell for certain.
