Hello all,
I will be constructing a coop for my Wyandottes soon, and will put only the most exceptional birds in it. I have quite a few Wyandottes, and I just ordered some eggs from a great bloodline, so I know that I'll have quite a few extras that aren't pretty enough to make it into the coop.
I'm planning on putting the 'rejects' into a separate coop, and was wondering what I might get if I put a Cornish roo over them? I figure any time we're planning a barbeque or something we can just put some of those eggs in the incubator and be set.
I'm not interested in what color, feathering, or lacing they will have - I mean will they make decent meat birds? How might the chicks temperament be like? How fast will they develop in comparison to a Cornish over a Rock? Will they get similar muscling?
(I mean quite literally a Cornish over a Rock - not a Cornish x Rock. I know the Cornish x Rocks are a well kept secret and nothing can compare to their size and growth rate.)
Thanks!
Jenne
