gender probability?

Thread Starter
hi guys. this is my first time incubating eggs. i recently encountered a problem about incubation but 2 of my 3 leghorn eggs died before i figured out that they need ventilation. i feel sooo stupid about that but i already poked vent holes. this wont be a problem if i still have my leghorns to lay fertile eggs for me.

i really want a female leghorn to hatch out of that egg.
is there a probability of gender like 50, 50 or its just really random?

ugh, at least i learned my lesson.

I think it depends on your hens and rooster to be honest.  In the past i've had some hatches that were 50/50, some almost all hens, and some almost all roosters.
