Hello everyone, I am trying to figure out the best coop. I just discovered some of the open air coops. What is the lowest temps that chickens like? Also does anyone use any kinds of misters during the hot summer or that a no no?

I'm guessing that you're from one of the hotter parts of NM? Here in AZ, many of us (perhaps most of us BYCers) use misters in the worst part of the summer. Some days it makes all the difference between your birds living or not. If indeed you live in a warmer area and not up at elevation, think shade and ventilation. Heat is much more of a problem than cold. Here in Tucson we have only a few nights a year of below freezing temperatures and my birds seem to enjoy it as long as they can get out of the wind.
