More Ameraucana Confusion...

I bought these from a woman who bought them from a hatchery in NC (I have no idea which one). She said they were Ameraucanas, but looking around on this site has got me wondering, especially considering that breed standards only include a few color combinations, and these chicks seem to have a huge variety! Some have muffs and beards, some don't, all have tiny little pea combs. Their legs are different colors, too: blueish, brownish, yellowish. They are about 1 month in this picture (sorry for the quality), in a protected mobile pasture pen/coop. They're beautiful little birds, but are they really Ameraucanas?

I clearly have much to learn about this chicken business...

Thanks for the help... if they are EE's, I'd better stop going around calling them my little Ameraucanas! Though some Ameraucana coloration seemed to fit in, so I've still got some hope? I'm new at chickens and this has got me baffled, not to mention sexing them. I'm lost! hmm.png

I think the Ameraucana purists on this site will tell you that if they're from a hatchery, they are EEs and not Ameraucanas.

My EEs have proven to be the gentlest, coolest birds in my flock.

Well, the kittens aren't so cute anymore and the easter egger cockerels are in the freezer. Plus, I think offering them as "prizes" scared folks off! So, I'm still posting quotes, if you know it let me know. I'm very enamored of this new one, it may hang around for a while!

EE's and the one in the center is a cockerel.

Breeding Welsummers and Barnevelders.

Having an Icelandic in the coop is like having a 2 year old in the house - they are into everything and don't follow the rules.

I have zero chicken willpower.
