Operation Rehab...is there any hope for her?

WOW! AWESOME!!!!!!!!! WTG to both you and Ling!!!!!!!!!
How are the new ones doing?

The one girl is doing fine. I made the decision to take the other to the vets to be put down

She was in bad shape. They were almost 3 months old, I guess she had been like this ever since they had gotten the ducklings....so for 3 months she was like this. Her legs were literally twisted backwards :(

On a better note....here is a comparison picture for people who didn't want to look back at the beginning of the thread..

Ling then

What an amazing improvement.

I'm sorry about the girl with the bad legs. I think you did the right thing. I had a beautiful soul (pekin duckling) whose legs were useless. I gave her special care for as long as she wanted to be part of this world, but eventually she passed away. The whoke thing really broke me up, but I gave her a better life than she would have had otherwise.

Ling looks wonderful! I am sorry about the new one, but the decision you made was very caring. She was so fortunate to have you to help her leave this world peacefully.

I really thought that maybe I could help her which is why I went and got her and it was way worse then what the woman told me :( It was almost like she sat down and somebody literally took her body and twisted it and her legs stayed where they were! She couldn't walk at all and she was a pretty big duck which made it hard on her. Her joints were swollen to about 5x the size they should have been and they were painful. I believe in my heart that we made the right decision for her

Unfortunately, they can't tell us what they want. But this one sounds like a quality of life issue and you most certainly made the right decision based on what was best for the animal. Some things just can't be fixed, and it sounds like this little one just had too many things wrong to make it fair to try.
