From the very first moment the chicks arrived I knew Chickzilla the pullet was going to be big... and BOSSY. But i didn't think my poor little roo would be running away from here in TERROR.
She treats the other pullets like they are HER girls. She even tries to fluff up her neck and chase the boy.. but YES she is INDEED a girl.
Now I know I will get one major response... CULL HER. well I don't want to cull her. First of all she hasn't even started laying yet and my flock is still young. So I would like slightly more productive responses than to kill her. Shes not aggressive to people and isn't overly aggressive to other birds other than my one little boy. Shes EXTREMELY protective of her girls and with the number of predators around here in Texas that's not a bad thing.... but... .
I don't know what the deal is... but will she grow out of thinking shes a boy and start acting like a girl and stop terrorizing my poor little guy... hes so scared of her that hes never tried to crow and spends most of his time hiding in the hen house... I cant blame him really.
Chickzilla (I need an updated picture... shes grown a LOT).
