HI! We are relatively new to raising chickens. We live in the city and have 4 adults and 1 baby(got her in March). She got attacked by our duck and I just wanted to share what I did to help her out. She had pretty bad injuries on her head and was bleeding pretty bad when we found her. My husband cleaned her up and brought her in the house. We put her under a heat lamp in a bedroom with the heat cranked up. She was VERY lethargic and wouldn't eat for a day. I purchased Critical Care Apple Banana, Nutrical and a product called Viyo. I mixed them together and tube fed her for 2.5 days and sprayed her wounds with Vetericyn and her recovery is amazing. She's eating the mush on her own now and is picking at chicken feed granules that we added water to. She's up walking around, drinking water and appears to be on the road to recovery! Whew!
