I am new to hatching Guinea eggs and am seeking information on incubation of Guinea eggs.  In doing searches of forums and the internet, little information is found.

All tips welcome!

Thank you!

Married to my great husband Tom.   2  children, and 3 grandchildren.  My small farm includes: Silkies, Frizzles, Sizzles, Cochin, Rhode Island Reds, 2 miniature goats, lots of Muscovy, Guineas, 3 dogs, 2 cats, and 1 house Bunny.

incubation is 26 to 28 days

temp for forced air during incubation 99.5.. at hatch it should drop down to 98.5 when the humidity is raised

humidity.. unless you're having extremely low humidity in the room where the incubator is located (by extremely low I mean around 16%).. I dry incubate.. (I don't add any water to the bator unless the humidity drops down to 25% or less) then raise the humidity at the first internal pip to 60% or higher (80% would be better)..

guineas are a lot like turkeys for incubation.. if you incubate at too high of a humidity ... the membrane becomes too rubbery and they have a hard time breaking through it

vents should be open during incubation and at hatch otherwise the keets can die from carbon dioxide poisoning

I have taken the water out of the bators for the remaing eggs due on the 18th and 23rd.  Vents opened.  Fingers crossed.  Hope this works!

My guinea keets are doing fine now.  Look healthy.

Any other folks out there with guinea experience.  Was hoping for more responses, just to get a feel of the overall guinea experience.

Thank you yinepu for you help!

Thank you Yinpue!  My keets have started to hatch. I used your advice and so far have 8 beautiful, fluffy, healthy keets!  Today was day 26, so I am expecting the rest to hatch soon.   I am so happy celebrate.gifI could do the happy dance!   yippiechickie.gif
