Eggs but no parasites

At the beginning of April I noticed my chickens had lice. Due to a lack of treatment options due to a pesticide ban. I had to treat with Novamectin. Seem to do the job. i retreated at 10 days and no visible signs of lice. however my girls still have eggs on their feather shafts. wondering if I need to retreat or if these are just leftovers from the original infestation. they dust bath i DE and I had completely cleaned out the coop.

what should I do? Is there a louse dust for dogs and cats I can safely used since they are still avaliable?

I imagine you can.  Plenty of people have used Adams flea and tick spray for dogs on chickens.  It is the same ingredients as is often found in "poultry dust," permethrins and pyrethrin, or maybe piperonyl.  You probably have different brands available.

A bath in Dawn dish soap would probably do it, too, though you'd probably have to repeat in 10-14 days, and maybe more than that.  Of course, that would be a lot more trouble.  I do know people have been unable to stop infestations with DE alone, though it makes sense it should help some.

Are the eggs dried out?  My girls had lice too and I used Sevens dust to dust them twice.  I did check later on after the second dusting.  They had the eggs but the eggs were hard as bricks.

I second the seven dust, Great stuff and they sell it everywhere. I also sprinkle a little in my coop before i put new bedding down.
