Just wanting to clarify something, if I have a frizzle silkie cross that didnt quite make the standard for sizzle, ie wrong comb type, do you then refer to that chicken as a frizzle instead?

I had thought so but then when reading something on the frizzle thread it sounded like they have to be a correct standard of a particular breed but frizzled and so the cross breed of the frizzle to silkie didnt quite fit into that catagory either?

Or is there yet another name for my adorable little cross bred frizzley mongrels that didnt quite make it to correct sizzle standard? lol

in order to be a frizzled silkie, the bird has to have the soft feathers of a silkie but curl. must have correct toes, comb, everything silkie but the curled feathers basically. for a sizzle- i am breeding for them to look 100% silkie, toes, comb, skin color, except the feathers are barbed like a regular chicken (smooth) or curled smooth (rough). your birds with incorrect combs are just one step away from being correct (in my book) others may disagree regarding the comb since they are not accepted into the standard yet.

Should I bred my sizzles to silkies or to cochins? And what color should I breed too? My sizzles are one black and three khaki. I have white, black, partridge,& splash silkies. And I have buff, black, & partridge cochins.
