Chickens Eating Spanish Moss

Part of our coop is near a large live oak.
A big lump of moss fell into the run and the chickens are going wild. They seem to LOVE it.
Is this okay? Will it cause a parasite problem? I know you don't want to use it for nesting material, but they're eating it up.
I hope it's not a problem, because this will not be an uncommon issue with the location of their run. We are adding a full roof soon, but probably won't be til the weekend.
 
There are several threads on Spanish moss. Just put it in the search box. Yes they can eat it, course being in Pa. I have no personal experience.
