I set 10 beautiful Buff Laced Brahma eggs Saturday morning.  Keeping fingers crossed smile.png I'll post pics tomorrow.

lau.gif The thing is, I would run out of room if I did this...

I have already been told NO MORE coops, hutches or anything that I can house more chickens in.. lau.gif

SO I have to sell everything I hatch unless I keep them for layers. Selling can be difficult....

Selling can be difficult . . . . see it as another skill to learn. Just like  you learned where and how to hatch. Selling is also how and where to sell. A little practice!wink.png

I received some of my eggs to day. I took a batch from the turner bator and put them on lock down and placed the orpingtons in the turner bator. I feel like I have so much to learn. I was asked to day to try to set some duck eggs. I don't know if I will or not. I feel like I should be figure out how to get better hatch rates with the chicken eggs first. I have more eggs to place on lockdown day after tomorrow. I am one busy lady here. Sure wish I would have a hen go broody for me.

Yikes--borrow one of mine. I have two useless hens. Broody and not laying. One hogging the nest box and the other laying on the coop floor. Just useless for me.

Good for you to focus on one species first. Nail this and I bet the other species will be easier .

I wish I could borrow one or two. This having 2 incubators is driving me a little crazy. I feel like I am coming and going.

I'm confused...aren't we supposed to wait to set chicken eggs?  But it seems like everyone is already setting.  Anyone want to sell me some eggs?  I hate bidding.  LOL

One of my silkies went broody on Saturday.. gave her a few eggs.. didn't separate her from the flock.. I figured if she wants them bad enough she'll protect them..

She's a first time broody.. sweet to me when I go to pull any extra eggs out from under her.. but she won't budge from that nest.. she seems to have the instinct (like most silkies) to stay glued to the nest.. no idea if she will take care of her chicks (if they hatch) or not..

I started out giving her just three eggs.. she stole a few more of the blue eggs .. so I let her have them too since I couldn't tell them from the original one.. decided to mark them yesterday .. so I may end up having to toss the last few into the incubator when she stops setting the nest (assuming the eggs survive)

Add 6 Wheaton Cuckoo Marans to the 8 Cochins. I'm in the process of maybe getting 6 EEs and 4 ?? (The last 4 are coming from a friend who is just giving me a few for the fun of it. I don't know what she's throwing In there.)
The first 8 were shipped yesterday and should arrive tomorrow. The Marans were shipped today. The others are local pickup. So its actually looking like Friday instead of Wednesday.
