double stacking eggs need an answer asap.

So, I have 2 incubators and one is brand new and being really crazy w/ the temps. Last night temps dropped to 95 in it and today when I got home from work temps were up to where they need to be 99.3. Anyways, because this incubator is being so crazy and I have almost 6 dozen eggs I am incubating can I double stack eggs in my other bator till I can get this one to stabilize. It has been on for 5 or 6 days and won't stabilize. If I do decide to double stack the eggs do I need to put like a paper towel between those eggs and the eggs on the egg turner.

 

I just had 2 1/2 dozen eggs come today and have another dozen coming tomorrow. I have already set 27 eggs yesterday and will be setting these eggs tomorrow afternoon. Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

OK...here's what I can tell ya:

 

On another thread I'm hatching on people have eggs stacked EVERYWHERE...lol

 

Personally, I currently have 83 eggs in a bator made for 48. I do not have an auto turner in there & everyone has said NOT to use 1 if you are stacking. If your eggs are already in the turner, turn it off & turn by hand. You just need to watch the eggs closest to the heating element aren't getting too hot. If you have a fan in yours, not as much of a worry as the air circulates. Just keep an eye on them & candle a couple times to make sure everyone is developing. 

 

Mine do not have anything between layers of eggs & none in the other pix did either.

Hmmm. Not to use an autoturner if double stacking. Ok. Well I know if hand turning your suppose to turn at least 3x/day. I just recently started back to work and turning 3x/day is gonna be rough. When I wasn't working it wouldn't have been a problem. Only time I can turn is before I leave for work, when I get home (sometime between 4:30 and 5). And then again maybe 8:30 at night. Not sure if the turning at 4:30 or 5 will be too soon again at 8:30. I am hoping to get the other temps in the other bator stabilized and then all I would have to turn is those eggs.

If the new eggs you just got are shipped ? - they need to sit to stabelize for 24 hours which will give you some time to get temps right in new incubator. Do you have any heat sinks in it? You could put some jars with lids on filled with warm water.

I've double stacked many times with the turner on. The eggs on top won't really get turned so I try and put eggs that are older around 14 days on the top and turn them by hand once a day but sometimes don't even bother turning them.  They all hatch just fine, don't notice any difference in hatch rates.

Mine get turned at random times, often around the times u mentioned...just make sure u turn an odd number of times each day so the longest time each day alternates sides each day.
