Hahaha. I mean LAY. Wow....it's late. Yes, when will she lay? She has the feathering of a hen but hasn't laid a single egg since I bought her in March?? I can't attach a picture, the site won't allow me to.

 

Wow. Imagine if you could know their gender in the egg? Haha!

Wife to a patient husband, Mother of two young boys, Registered Nurse for Pediatrics/IV therapy at local medical center. Also a Hunter, Dog-Lover, and occasionally a girl that likes to snuggle in a blanket, read a book, and enjoy the quiet of life :)

with my silkies it between 6-8 months of age

yay kat. =D It depends on the bird. I have had silkies lay at about 5 months and some start at around 7.

All my programs have gone out the window so now i just have a mixed backyard flock. Always looking for that one project tho. =D

Your right , I was just saying about mine personaly start 6-8. Heck ive heard some start at 5months and have heard some didnt start until 9-10 months.

The only problem with all the rain , brings on more ants. Had to go out and DE ant hills and animal pens today. Now its just muggy and sticky out today after that down pour, but im not going to complain we really needed the rain.

Hi!  Very interested in Silkies.  This will be my first adventure in chickens.  I have 3 rabbits and I'm the volunteer coord at a local rabbit rescue.  I have my coop all set up and ready to get started.  Do you have silkies...what ages...price???

We decided to take a drive yesterday and met up with a newbie to the forum NEWRIVERGUY. He has lots of chickens but for the life of me I cant recall what kinds . But we bought a duck from him. A crested Pekin to hang with our other girl and they are having the best time together. So nice to meet you NEWRIVERGUY ! He is also looking to get into silkies and I told him about Sonoran Silkies on here and AZ CHICKEN forum here @BYC. Welcome to all the newbies !
