Duck is sitting!! - Page 4

Hi there!
My duck (runner) was sitting also, but I think I broke her of that pretty quickly (she was sitting on fake wood eggs). Does a hen stop laying when she gets broody? If so, and she starts laying again, can she have some random off eggs (1 large, next one a lot smaller) and n off day or two? Her egg today was very small, almost like a store-bought small chicken eggs- that small.

Thanks!

1 dear husband,3 great kids, and the pets... a Westie, a Kitty, and the new duckies! 2 WH,2 Choc Runner all hens.

Living in wonderful WI and now enjoying fresh duck eggs daily. : )

So much good info here. My duck now has 14 eggs in her perfect nest but so far she never sits on it. She just runs around with her Drake all day as soon as I let her free range. I am wondering how to encourage her to sit. Should I not let them free range? Force her to stay in the house and hopefully she will get the idea to sit?
