The lone duckling hatched by broody duck, where to raise it? - Page 2

The 3 ducklings seem great, they are happy with momma. The one duckling whom had the hard hatch is not doing as well. He was very weak and wouldn't lift his head. I put him inside under the lamp and have been giving him electrolytes. He is still weak but has improved since giving him drops. He is chirping. He tried to stand a few times today but mostly lays there. I would like to give him some food...but what? Mashed peas, softened food?

Thanks

The weak duckling. One eye seems more shut than the other. It goes through spurts of energy. He lays a lot and sleeps though. Drinks water on own when I show him.

Give it a few more days to gain its strength then try introducing it back with mama probably in the evening when they have gone to bed try to slip it in while they aren't paying attention. But stay around to make sure all is well.Maybe distract them with some peas or some other tasty treat then slip it in.
