OUCH!  So sorry!  I've always thought that JD was one of  the worst dirty tricks mother nature could play!  I can't imagine doing what you must every day with no end in sight. :hugs

Thank you for the hug, some days get to me, but than I get up again. My critters give me things to do, as well as this website now. I have met many nice people like you.😀

Excited for bantams to ship next Monday! Hopeful also, but not expectant...

@chickisoup  and @oldhenlikesdogs , Thank you both for kind supportive words and for TRULY understanding how I feel regarding health stuff. I have lots of supportive stuff to say back circling through my head all day, but I guess this is the lousy response you get, cuz it just aint  gonna come out right. :/:P Feel free to message me any time.

The 5 chicks I got for my last survivor (no longer) are thriving and 2 weeks old now. I drove 3 hours each way and picked up 8 Swedish Flowers and they are also thriving at 6 days old now. And I ended up finding 3 silkies at LFS (from local breeder) when I was there (I couldn't resist). They also are thriving! Pretty sure it wasn't my brooder killing off those banty babies.

My Mother in Love (law) told me..... Yesterday is history. Tomorrow's a mystery. Today is a gift!

I hope y'all have a great day!

The label was printed Monday at 8am and I got a call from the post office at noon today! Wow! Even faster shipping than last time! I didn't hear peeping on the phone or when I walked into the post office. My heart started sinking...Turns out they just had the chicks in a back room! They are ALL healthy and peeping so far! No DOAs!!!! No one is extra tiny! They look great! Everyone present and accounted for, all 16.
My oldest has claimed the two GLW. My son picked the Buff Brahma and named her Burrito. My middle daughter selected the Standard White Cochin, Elsa. My youngest chose the Buff Orpington and named her Cinnamon. That leaves me with a Silver Cuckoo Marans, Exchequer Leghorn, Blue Andalusian, Partridge Cochin, 2 Speckled Sussex, 2 Partridge Rock, 2 Salmon Faverolles, and a Welsummer.

I have Nutridrench water, plain filtered water, and medicated chick crumbles in the brooder under the lamp in my kitchen again. We've dipped all the beaks and seen them each drink Nutridrench. They were all pecking the crumbles too.

Gonna be keeping a close eye on everyone! We're definitely happy with our reshipment!

I have ordered from MPC several times and will order again.  Know what you want before you place an order otherwise they will charge extra if you make any changes to an existing order.  Otherwise, they seem very knowledgeable and are quick to respond to your e:mail questions.   They refunded my order when I lost 2 babies in one shipment.

I wanted to add that MPC is pricey ($50.00 to ship), but very happy with chicks I received.

(with zero losses).  My guess is equal blame lies with the handling from the point of hatch and improper packaging by your supplier to careless handling and shipping timing by the USPS. Turned out to be an expensive lesson learned not just in dollars but in unnecessary stress and time (which happens to be a precious commodity to someone battling leukemia).

I really believe MPC has the potential to become a great company (you've nailed the "cute factor" that appeals to the small flock/pet market) and you are definitely filling a niche' in a booming industry.  I just hope that you either get a better control/working relationship with your main supplier so you are able to improve the overall quality in shipping, packaging and supply or are able to find another supplier.  If you don't should someone such as Cackle Hatchery, who has been in this business for many many years by doing things right, decides to expand their small order offerings, you could be in real trouble.

Just a few thoughts from a sadly, dissatisfied customer.

I'm so sorry you thought I had abandoned y'all. It was a very busy week last night and while I wish BYC was my only job....it isn't. :hide

I wish there was a way to force USPS to be more consistent and care more for the chicks they ship then they seem to sometimes. For the most part we have very few losses and reshipments especially do well.

I do completely understand your frustration though and want to offer my heart felt sympathies.

Alex
