This morning when I went to check on the girls  I noticed alot of blood all over the place and on the roosting bar. I freaked out at first, then I started by checking the little ones. They are all fine so I moved on the the bigger ones. One of my hens has lost a toe nail somehow and is bleeding. It looked like it might be fine to just leave alone but checking on her an hour later it is still bleeding pretty good. Im still very new to chickens but I will do anything to make my girls happy. Does anyone know what I should do to stop the bleeding?

Baking soda might help if you dont have anything called "Quick stop" for dog nails.

Also try keeping pressure on it, and if that does not work, ice to numb and freeze it.

Thank you for the advise.I cleaned her foot off and dipped the tip of her toe in the baking soda and it worked great. Again thank you.
