I have discovered that when I mow the lawn...if I drop a big pile of clippings on the run floor...the gals go nuts and consume it all......

Mine love it too...Its like a mad house the sec the grass hits the ground. LOL and they LOVE when I rake up the floor. They dig thru it while I rake and find all kinds of goodies.

I have switched to grass clipping instead of straw.  They seem to especially love violet leaves.  It is the only seed, leaf, green that they will eat out of your hand.

I put about half my grass clippings in the run. The pullets will dig through it, scratch it about and root around...Oh Yeah, they will also eat pleanty of it.
