Miss Gulf Coast

Just wanted to say "hey all y'all" from the Mississippi Gulf Coast. My husband and I are (almost) empty-nesters on six acres in the piney woods a bit north of Gulfport.

I have a small barnyard flock of a few Cochins, buff Brahmas, white Silkies, a couple of mutts, two black Minorcas, and one dark Cornish.  I also raise goats and a few rabbits.  Plus assorted farm dogs and cats.  My hobbies are baking, cooking, gardening, and shoveling manure. big_smile.png I am an ALBC member, and am interested in eventually settling down to one or two purebred Heritage breeds, but I haven't made my mind as to which yet.

Welcome!

But not at the same time right?  :-P

Welcome from another Harrison County resident (north of the pass, near I-10). I don't have any chickens yet. Still in the planning and convincing hubby phase.

"Convincing hubby stage" is sooo very much familiar to me.  His most famous last words are "NO MORE ANIMALS!"

Have you been by to check out Southern Farm Hatchery yet?  (I haven't made it over that way just yet.)  I believe they're in the Necaise Crossing (-ish) area.  Right now, my hens have decided to go broody one by one, and are hatching out little mutt chicks a few at a time.

Helen: Daria, do you have to look at everything in such a negative light?

Daria: Could you possibly be referring to the harsh light of reality?
