Chicks not hatching. Very gooey

Had some chicks not hatch, even though pipped and some shell gone.  They seem to be gooded in thieir shells.

Plenty of humidity.  What causes this slimeyness that cements them in?

What was the humidity during incubation and then during hatching.  I find that high incubating humidity coupled with higher hatching humidity makes for gooey and sometimes drowned chicks.

I believe it's from too much humidity, during incubation and hatching. I've noticed when eggs don't lose enough weight and their air cell's are too small, they get really gooey and sticky.

I think that's right, I have had the same problem my last several hatches and the last one I tried it almost dry and had a better rate so I'm going with even less water the next set and see how that fairs,

i dry incubate and add water when i stop turning but yes, the humidity must be too high.  i threw out all my old hygrometers and am opting for new ones along with thermometers.

Thanks for all the opinions and insight.
