If you have some favorite/or some meaningful locations, try those out for names.

Our current trio of ducklings ended up with location names that relate to us. And who is to say which of those are girl or boy names   LOL  (Attu and Kodiak are girls, Adak, we aren't sure, but leaning to boy).

Adak, Attu, Kiska and Kodiak are in Alaska, with the first 3 being part of the Aleutian Chain. DH was stationed at Attu to close down the LORAN station there 2 years ago. He has also been on the USCGC Kiska (though not to the island - Kiska is reserved for a future female dobe). And while we lived in Kodiak with him on the USCGC Munro, he made many a stop in Adak.

I love the idea of chefs, both my husband and I come from culinary backgrounds. The possibilities are endless! And I can relate to the need for normalcy, it is not something that our family is known for...

My existing three ducks (two Anconas & a Buff) are all named plant names that are also people names - Poppy, Fern & Heather.  I would like the new girls to be similarly named but am having trouble.  The process of typing this makes me think about some famous female chefs - Les Trois Gourmands... Julia Child, Simone "Simca" Beck, and Loiusette Bertholle...

I tried to let the kids name some of our pets.  We have a chicken named "Black Streak of Wind", a fish named "Derpy", and a rabbit named "Grey Smudge Longfoot"...  Let me tell you, when people say "Cute bunny, what's her name," and you tell them "Oh, that is Grey Smudge Longfoot," because your seven year old WILL NOT let you just call her Smudge, they look at me like I am a little loopy.  Not that that is a new look, but I get it so often ("You have ducks?!", "Is that a giant cello?", etc...) that I try to minimize the weird as best I can.

Good luck with your names.

Winkin, Blinkin and Nod are my favorite.  I may use them for my ducks.

I named 3 of my little Black East Indies Peeper, Pooper & Scooper. Peeper cuz she/he never shuts up. Pooper you can guess why. Scooper cuz of all the food he/she was scooping into his/her mouth.
