Thats a bad combination of stuff she had going on there. I hope she is alright. I got her a golden feather from all of us on this thread. Hope we hear from her soon.

Oh how very sweet! Hope it cheers her up.

I was so excited i forgot we had yippiechickie.gifyippiechickie.gifyippiechickie.gifyippiechickie.gif eggs today!

CHEEKA you deserve, and EARNED a good break a long time ago, you have a rare work ethic you don't see much of anymore.

It has been in the 60s last 2 days here. I got the floor of the new coop painted today, will do a 2nd coat early tomorrow morning. last day of warm for a few weeks! Going to split it down the middle, and my lavender orps will be right next to the australorps. the shed is a high roof 10x12. (we traded off an older snow plow for it) My orps and the BBW turkeys are next. There's a waiting list on the other birds, so I am squeezing them in between hehe!

seriously!  As soon as I can drive.  And get out of school.  And am old enough to get a job. And decide to become a mail-person, I'm gonna give you a break.  Actually, I'm gonna just make you some cookies and other various baked goods, and send them to you.

thanks everyone... I would love a break, looks like the first one I will get is in June.  I'm taking the 3rd, 4th and 5th off to go to the memorial for my former MIL who died on Jan 6.  outside of that, I think it would take an act of Congress to get time off...!  W4W, if I called in sick... oh man... I don't know what my PM would do... probably have an apoplectic fit.  thankfully, I don't get sick often, and usually work right through it.  blame my insane work ethic on my folks... seems out of the three of us (I have 2 brothers), I have the strongest.  neither one of them holds a steady job for too long.

a lot of the surrounding counties have a 2 hour delay this morning for school... but not Schoharie.  it's nice out.  foggy, but most of my snow is already gone.  it's supposed to be 55 today.  a record high.  but it's now supposed to be raining heavily by 4pm and severely windy too.   40's tomorrow, and 20's throughout the weekend.

time to go feed the big gang and get on my way!  hope everyone has a great day!

Make time for yourself. You only live once. If you were no longer able to show up for work they would figure out how to get it done. I too have too much job related responsibility. But a friend said to me about a year ago "You will make time to be at your funeral ". Got me thinking and making changes. Enjoy the beautiful day

Well said, OKthumbsup.gif      But Cheeka, sounds like the perfect plan is at hand. Call in sick, PM has fit, they need a new PM, who could possibly do it? YOU!  Betcha your hours would be shorter being the big cheese. Bwahahaha!   Smiley    Oh well, sounds like you've got it under control, and I want you to feel free to complain freely without fear of being nagged too much. Can't help but nag a little, though. smile.png

Awesome!  Funny, but the other day, after you explained what a poopy egg is, we got one  sickbyc.gif  for the first time since I put sand in the coop, so it didn't break, but man was it nasty. One of my dark brown eggs and it was really pale where the poo was. Even after a good scrubbing, I didn't want to eat it. Scrambled it up along with another that I accidentally cracked, and the girls had a feast. Excitement was on par with getting a plump potato bug, but better because everyone got some.

Yep, I'm limited by the coop size and have to resist all temptation, but I have a really long wish list!   How's Pickles doing?  Hope you take more pics of him/her. I'd love to see how the color develops.

jchny, sounds like your expansion plans are going well. SO glad to hear that your camera is fixed, because I really REALLY want to see your new additions when they arrive.   .....  lavender Orpingtons......   droolin.gif  and the others too. Alpacas, pigs, turkeys......   pop.gif

animallover hope your chickens were okay in the wind last night and that your sick girl is better today.

Did I mention that my #1son discovered a new game to play with the chickens?  Chase the laser!!!  People use those red pointer lasers to play with their cats (it's fun to see how high they can jump up a wall big_smile.png) but who knew the chickens would fall for it too!  Maybe OK can incorporate it into his training for the RBR revenge program, that is, if Roger has finished her book.

I got Roger a new book. She has not stopped reading.

Must be the sand. Ha ha. Actually, I remember OK complaining about Roger doing it several months ago. Then again, I think he uses sand on his poop boards.lau.gif
