Setting up today 26 May 2012.... Anyone setting can join - Page 10

They are sooo cute!  I am only on day 20, but I keep walking by looking for pips.  I am running a bit of a poll on my fb page...I have six eggs...numbered 1-6, which one will hatch first, how many girls/boys and total hatch rate.  Every is very optimistic and hoping for a lot of girls and 100%  I do need at least one roo though.  :)

I'm so excited for all the upcoming babies. Following this post is keeping me excited.  I am so happy for everyone!

I am on day 14, so a week to go.  I tried to candle the eggs, but I couldn't see anything.  I used a strong light source but the eggs are really dark.  Since this is my first go round with an incubator, I am scared I am doing it all wrong.  But, we shall see.  Tomorrow starts the 7 day count down.  I have a hen on 6 eggs, and I have 11 in the bator, I vacillate between being nervous that none will hatch and worried that all will hatch... crazy.

I have 1 lovely man and our fur & feather babies (2 Manx cats, a Schnauzer, a Westie, a beautiful Barred Rock, a broody Wyandotte, and two chicks that turned into pullets, who are just starting to lay!)

Here are my two bad eggs. Is this a FOOT on one? I culled it for no movement and lack of veining.

Just curious to know if you were able to get your humidity bumped up higher than what is shown in your picture?

Yeah, that was a brand new thermometer too So it was in the middle of adjusting. It was 50% this morning and I added about a cup more water before I left the house. Last hatch it stabilized at 65% before the chicks hatched and went up to a steady 85% after the first chick.

Hope everybody's day is going well.  Since I took the egg turner out, temp has been totally stable at 99.5!  Perhaps the motor on it was getting hot and causing temp flux.

I am glad to hear thatthumbsup.gif.  I use the same temp humidity meter as well except that my temp is always under by 2 degrees.   Okay, day 20 for me and it is all i can do to stay at work.  I already made one trip home to peak in on my eggs.  This is not my first egg hatch but each one sure is exciting.

Went into LOCKDOWN !!!! Put in 8 eggs to start, ended up with 6 going into lockdown.

OK got home, looked in on the eggs and saw a pip in one of them , I have 6 eggs that went on to hatching status. When i picked them up to take them out of the turner, I could feel movement in all the eggs, and heard chirping. My humidity is at 81, but just added water, so i will check it in a little while and make sure it dosnt get too high. temp is around 99.5 and climbing back up. I also candled the eggs one last time and all had movement in them. and all seem to be in the air sack with their beaks. I sure cant wait to see what we get out of this.

Will post pics as soon as i get something. Great to see some aer hatching already for everyone  else.
