Summer 2012 Granny "Square" Swap (sign ups closed) - Page 4

After going through all the blocks from the last swap,, I really have to improve and come up with something nicer!

If you aren't living for something, you are dying for nothing.

Don't trouble Trouble until Trouble troubles you!

I have a pattern. It is for six-inch squares. If anyone wants to make a twelve-inch square but can't find a pattern, one thing you can do is make a six-inch square and add on. I did that with a classic 3dc, 1ch granny square and kept going until I had a table cloth.

Cool good to know it's the same color.

Funny!  Well I'll leave that color name there then with a slash and then the full name so folks know both are just fine.

I think I've decided what to do for my 6x12s but haven't decided on the 12" ones yet.  I want to do 2 sets, obviously.  A set of strips that spell out LOVE and I can't decide on the others.  There are so many cool pattertns out there!!!    tongue.png

haha  I have started more blankets that way!  Before Kim's fall swap I had never really done squares before but I had started quite a few baby blankets with a square pattern I liked and then just didn't stop til I had a blanket.     lol.png

I would have posted a pic of my yarn loot, but gave DD my camera to take to camp with her. tongue.png

Sunny~ The strips that spell LOVE sound sooooo cool!!!

Alethea~ That's an excellent idea about adapting a 6" pattern to make a 12" square.

Now back to the drawing board to pick out a pattern. Oh man it always takes me forever....

Me too!  Luckily we have tons of time to decide before we have to start.  I love this part though.  Sifting through all the pretty patterns.  The colors you chose sound like they will be so lovely together!  Can't wait to see what you make with them!   :)

We have another participant joining but I will wait and let her introduce herself later.   big_smile.png

I have downloaded several 12" patterns from the website posted on an earlier post.  There were a lot to choose from.  I haven't found any rectangular ones yet but could make up my own.  In fact I could take three smaller versions of the "granny" and join them and crochet around them.  I could do the same with flowers too.  It's fun to look for new patterns and think about what colors to do them in.  I haven't thought of yarn yet.  We'll have to make a trip to Lancaster sooner or later and can shop then if I don't order on line.
