Hi everyone!
I've been doing some (more) reading about this adventure I have started, and I need advice.

This is the background.

I've got 10 Rhode Island reds (layers)......already in the coop.

I've got 10 Cornish Rocks (meat birds) that are 10 days old.

And 10 White Leghorn, (layers that will be with the RI's when it's time) that are 4 days old.

I have the CR's and the WL's together.....under the lamp with feed and water 100% of the time.

I've noticed that the CR's have gotten pretty big, pretty fast.
This is normal right?
They rest a lot. I imagine their legs get tired because they have gained.
Is this something I need to worry about?

Do I need to limit their food soon?

Thanks for any and allllll advice.

Ok.
Another question is....when I put My meaties outside, can I put them in with mt layers who are 11 weeks older than them? I don't want anyone to get hurt.

It's ideal to keep the meaties separate from your older layers. The meaties are just too dumb, lazy, and fat to fend for themselves against older layers in my opinion. They are good and pooping, drinking tons of water, and eating tons of feed. Don't expect them to be as active as your other birds.

Good luck!

Ok. Fantastic advice. This is what I was expecting to have to do.
Thank you very much.
I was laying in bed this morning thinking of ways to acomplish this task. (another temporary coop)
