Chicken Names- whats your chickens name? - Page 69

Well we've had 6 ex battery hens that we adopted from a rescue centre thing named Betty, Kiwi, Bella, Lulu, Holly and Poppy. And last summer I treated my self to some pullets from a proper breeder, a Light Sussex named Maisie and a Bluebell named Rosie!
If I ever got a rooster I think I'd name him Starbuck xD

Update:  Poopsie Cooper is now officially named BUTTON.  She's a bantam partridge Wyandotte, and is so tiny, even at 2 weeks.  She is dwarfed even by all the other bantams, but she has a lot of verve.

 

Edited to add: "officially" means my girls also use that name. 

I'll bet lots of people have named a chicken Drumstick - but this is only a temporary name until I find out if "Drummie" is a He or a She :)

I thought of some names for my 4 Australorps.  Seeing that they are all black and Aussie,  I decided to name them after some Aussie spreads i.e.

 

Vegiemite

Promite

Marmite 

and Bovril from UK (meaty drink)

Here's my frizzle rooster Frankie The Fizz.

 

We just brought home 4 chicks (with 2 more to come).  We told my 7 yo nephew he could name them.  When he first came over, he walked up and pointed at each one and said its name.  We never told him what kind they were or what they would grow into. (the breeds are all based on what the co-op told us they were)

 

The Silver Laced Wyandotte he named Silver!

The Salmon Faverolle he named Amy

The Russian Orloff he named Shadow

The Chantecler he named Blaze.

 

I think he did a good job with names!
