What did you do in the garden today?

Good morning all. I had to have my eye dilated for a procedure this morning. All I did was stick my finger into the soil in a few pots and found the ball the dogs have been looking for. I have about an hour and half before I go back to work so I came in to change and get sunglasses before I head outside to plant the borage and get a batch of worm tea going. Have a great day gardeners :frow

Morning Gardeners I bought more walking onion from Amazon. These are just dry bulbs layed them on paper towel wet it see of there life any good ideas ?
@Sally PB is the walking onion fan. I got mine from here. They are planted under the snow right now, so we'll see if they come up. What she sent me in the mail was mostly good sized onions (for walkers that is nickle to a quarter in size) and many sprouted in my pantry before I for them planted. I'm expected big (little) things from them.

We got some rain early this morning and it's warmed up into the 40s today so snow is receding quickly. All the sidewalks and driveways here are clear except for some puddles at the moment. Our back patio is shaded by the house (is on the north side) so there is still a layer of ice and snow there, but that's always last to melt. I might just break up the ice and shovel it clear.

Had our first moisture since NewYear Day. Just enough to knock down the dust. There are tiny green grass sprouts at the soil level if you look hard.
The great lake below us is free of ice, which is unheard of. The geese are winging their way north again, and the baldies are hunting the lake.
I loaded up the trailer and went into town to get the 16 foot cattle panels and unloaded and put them away for sometime in the next week or so.
Garden work today was derailed by 50mph winds and temps dropping back to freezing, which is fine as arthritis in my wrists and hands is winning today, no contest.
8 year old hen was being mercilessly picked on by the 9 month old pullets to the point of them putting a hole in her. I built a large enclosure for her in the heated workshop, her new home. When I'm out, she's out, like a puppy, but never around the other birds. She's the ONLY one allowed in my garden. So she's an indoor bird now. She only ever sits around and watches the world go by any more anyway. The shop is heated when needed, and has huge doors open when the weather is nice. We're calling it the senior living facility.

I would plant them now. That way, they develop some roots to help feed the sprouts.
I’m going to put mine in a couple of planters so I can move them to shade if I need to this summer. The lilac and apple will be too small for providing shade in the afternoons.
