What did you do in the garden today?

This is us too!!! 70s only for for us but back to 40s by Monday.
Same here and I'm so excited! Going out in a few, letting the ladies out and play in the garden!

Yes, this is only my third spring here and I've changed it up a bit each spring and learned more each time. I way overplanted tomatoes last year but then again, I ended up with plenty of green tomatoes for salsa and relish so I need some over production.

OMG I hope he's alright.

I hope she's alright. We have 2 geriatric kitties ourselves (about 20 yo now) and spend a lot of our time making sure things are a right for them as we can.

Posting this then going outside, it's gorgeous right now. I'm going to try and pen up some of the ladies in a raised bed that is nothing but what looks like johnson grass and see what they can do for me. I need to do some repair on the greenhouse and clean the weeds from the greens beds.
It's been a tough day for him.
He's been eating popsicles and garlic toast, and resting. He just told me he's feeling a lot better now. 💙
He eats pretty healthy and works out, he's very active. He's acting just fine now.
I took his picture last spring:

Started some tomatoes, peppers, summer squash, and cucumbers in seed trays in the green house. While I wasn't paying attention, Penny got into the chicken run and found an old cooked chicken bone (I gave cooked bones to the chickens some time back) and crunched it up and ate part of it. Now I'm worried she'll get a perforated gut. :he

I hope not, I know it's always a risk, but my dogs eat all kinds of disgusting things and bones.
I was 🪴😍 that you got some seeds started, not ❤for your dog eating inappropriate things.

Winds are going to be even stronger tomorrow.UGH. We lost power tonight. I'm guessing a tree couldn't handle it and took out a line out in open country down the road.
Trimmed up the tomato and set to cloning it.
Lining up all the weekend chores for Sunday when the winds are more reasonable, 25-35 mph. Temps in the low 60s though instead of 80s.

It was hot as hades this afternoon... But we managed to get the door frame up on the hoop house. Just need to add the door and the rest of the netting and we're solid!

I finally got some stuff planted today! I sowed corn and beans today. I also got nearly all my tomato plants in the ground. I tried to mound them up as well as possible but it looks a bit awkward because of the cardboard.

I'm hoping tomorrow to get the cardboard finished up and get the rest of my plant starts in the ground!

Any I STILL haven't sprayed the fruit trees yet. None of them have blooms on them. Any suggestions on what you'd spray?

a handsome little guy.

now when you mentioned garlic, did you check his blood pressure? when I was about that age I felt dizzy, sometimes fell down due to low blood pressure. doctors didn't think about it as usually it is not issue with young people. as my mother had low blood pressure I found it out myself. another possibility might be that his sugar drops or lack of oxygen for any reason. for the sugar issue he should eat more often, snacks between meals but not a lot of sweet food. for oxygen you should always keep the windows open or at least open them a few times a day if cold. good luck.

she will be fine. when I was a kid (ages ago) people fed dogs bones only. I do as well whenever I have them.

tomato seedlings are ready to transplant. not in soil yet. it is warm here but cloudy so not hot yet. peas are almost ready to harvest, spinach is still ok but I am afraid that with heat coming soon they will not last long. there are a few lettuces fighting the warm weather but it will probably end up as chicken/gees/duck treat. I don't like hard and dry lettuce. swiss chard is growing well and will last much longer than spinach in my climate. zucchini sprouted and I am happy about that. they are prolific veggies, produce plenty for me as well as for my chickens. I am considering to grow them vertically to save space.
