I never could figure out what the hoopla was about the 6 weeks.  Um... perhaps it's significant for you southern folks????

I go by April 15. I like to plant corn when the oak leaves are as big as a squirrels ear. Got another pickup load of pine straw today...

We rarely have a frost after Feb 28th. Everything is budding after that.

I was always taught to plant corn when the birch leaves get as big as a mouse's ear.

Our last frost used to be May 10, but I think it's closer to end of April now.
