What did you do in the garden today? - Page 10

It finally rained today! So i did a little dance in my garden. I also collected up the last of the snap peas, a few orange million tomatoes and a ton of onions. Tonight i'll be replanting in a few of my beds for fall and clearing out one of the beet beds.

I watered, weeded, picked a bunch of tomatoes and now I'm trying to figure out the plan for dinner that must include tomatoes, not that I'm complaining AT ALL! big_smile.png

The BEST thing I ever ever did for my garden was run drip irrigation on a timer. I use way less water, I water at the source of the plant and everything has just gone completely bonkers in this awesome heat with enough water.

I got a full 5 gallon bucket of Brandywine tomato's yesterday so I will be making up some more divine salsa

Next year I am going to plant a little patch of celantro ( I hate it but its a must have for salsa so ..) and a pepper plant. LOL

I think a small patch of dill as well and perhaps some mustard.

My poor beds are currently getting over run with grass/weeds from hell because it's too hot for me to go weed. I think it's bermuda grass and I can't kill it for anything!.

At what size does a zuchinni become a 'marrow'? LOL ..I should take photos of these suckers ...huge is an understatement.

You can use flat leaf parsley instead of of cilantro for the salsa. I don't like cilantro either and the parsley works great!

I picked ... three handfuls of squash bugs. Ew!!

I'm ready to put out my fall tomatoes and got the rest of my fall seeds ordered today. Still hoping for a few winter squash to set on but this unrelenting heat is not helping.

I trapped a squirrel!!! wee.gif

One of many that need trapping. They're eating all my tomato's and corn. Now waiting for DH to get home to "dispatch" it.

I picked this melon a little smaller than a tangerine with white flesh. Interesting to say the least.

 Frech charantaiis?  yummy!

Today I picked some tomatoes and an early butternut.  I've got some melons almost ready, but not big ones yet.  Picked 4 ears of corn for dinner, but the ruby reds almost done, and the peaches and cream are coming on.

Why don't sheep shrink in the rain?

Why is there brail at drive up ATMs??

Why are their floatation devices instead of parachutes in my airplain seat???

If a tree falls in the woods and my husband doesn't hear it, am I still wrong????

Went out of town for a week, and after not having any rain for so long I can't remember, we had rain twice while I was gone and again the day I came home.So I'll be picking weeds when it dries out.
