How old? Looks like a cockerel to me.

That is definitely a little roo...he will be a gorgeous rooster someday :)

Thanks for your help leadwolf!  We think he'll be rather handsome too!  We looked over a lot of images of golden laced cochins and it just seemed on the roosters their neck feathers would all be almost a solid golden color where his are more black. So we were not for sure. Thanks again for your help!  smile.png

Feathering or not, at 8 weeks the comb and wattles tell the tale. I agree, he'll be stunning!

Well, the kittens aren't so cute anymore and the easter egger cockerels are in the freezer. Plus, I think offering them as "prizes" scared folks off! So, I'm still posting quotes, if you know it let me know. I'm very enamored of this new one, it may hang around for a while!
