Hello:

I am looking for some suggestions for non broody chickens.  I have two golden commets now and want to get two more different ones, but dont want any that go broody.  I have been trying to do some research, but there is not alot our there.

any suggestions?

thanks

Most sexlinks and hatchery strains of birds will tend not to brood because they are bred for production.

That said, if you want a non broody  breed, a leghorn will fit that bill.

However, there are always exceptions. My best broody was a sexlink, and I've known a leghorn who hatched out a clutch of chicks.

I'm no expert, there is always something to learn, and my birds are livestock, so... yes, I may be quite blunt. wink.png

That's true. Just at the moment I have a commercially bred White Leghorn and an ISA Brown red sex-link that are both broody and determined about it. But generally speaking neither hardly ever do so.
