to me it looks like one roo and 3 girls

My city flock of 3 chickens quickly grew to 12.   I have 2 French Copper Black Marans, 2 Favorelles, 2 Lavender and 1 blue Ameraucanas, 1 Rumpless Araucana, 1 Welsummer, 1 Blue Laced Red Wyandotte, 1 Mille Fleur and 1 Splash Bantam Cochin plus 1 Welsh Terrier, 4 grown children and 4 grandchildren.

I hope you're right!  It's really hard to tell with these, isn't it?  Hope you've got girls...

me too. The only reason I am thinking mine are girls, even with their pinky combs is that at age 3 1/2 weeks one lavender had a very red and very distinct diamond shaped comb. Now at 9 weeks the two I have left , even though the one with a rose pink comb still look much different. Mine is posted on here somewhere as well. I am worried about it as it has an even 3 rows of comb, supposedly a male trait. Boooo. I still think you have 3 girls.

Well thanks...I think I MIGHT have 2 girls, 2 boys, but that's probably the most I can hope for.  I was out messing with them today, and I'm pretty sure I found saddle feathers on one.  But at this point, I'd be happy with 2 of each!  As for yours, I don't know what to say.  Two of mine have weird combs that disqualify them as even being Americaunas, so it's hard to compare them to the other two... ALL of mine are getting pretty pinked up now on the comb and face.  Where did you get your birds?  I got mine from a man who bought the eggs in an auction and incubated them.  Craigs List.

I bought eggs from a woman in South Carolina. I know mine are pure breeds however, I think there is a lot of dishonesty out there. I ordered eggs from another breeder that stated her eggs were robin egg blue, dark chocolate brown and pink. The reality was that her eggs were pale light blue, the "chocolate brown" were just brown..not even dark and the pink was beige. I also ordered 6 Splash Ameraucana eggs and got all blacks. When I asked her about why they were all black she said that happens as the father is black. However on her website her photo showed an adorable splash bird..with no explanation that what you get may be all black. Both of these women boasted about being breeders belonging to societies and having pure blood lines. Mine are pinked up too. I am just hoping.

I have heard that black, blue and splash can come from the same breeding--but I agree that her ad should have stated the percentage of each to expect.  I am guessing the "chocolate brown" eggs are your Marans--I have two BCM hens too, but no eggs yet--can't wait to see them.  As for my Americaunas, I guess the truth will be in the egg color.  They're too young yet, and of course if they are all roosters we'll never know!  But I was told, on this board, that the combs were probably a throwback to something further back in the line, and that if I wanted to breed to cull those two, and to consider adding a black Americauna to improve the feather quality.  That is a known weakness of the Lavender Americaunas at this point, and I think that's why we're having such a hard time telling their genders.  I have a bunch of different breeds now, but the Lavenders are my favorites--at least partially because I got them young and they are tame and friendly.  I'm enjoying all of them though.  Except I hate when they act like bullies--I have two pullets that kind of act like that.  I know it's normal and the other chickens expect it, but it just seems rude!
