I'm seeing all cockerels. The only one that I'm not sure of is the very light splash that you can never get a good view of in any of the photos.

Buffy is our only Orpington. She is independent, lower on the pecking order, but big, fluffy and likes to cluck. She lays frequently when not broody. She's my only brooder so far that I have...

they maybe 8 to 10 weeks old. i bought them from a individual and i dont know how old they were. i am guessing they were around a week or two when i got them and that was the first of april so maybe 8 to 10 weeks and thats a guess. i am really only concerned about 2 of them. i am pretty sure two of them are hens.
In that case, I would have to say that all of the ones we can see the comb clearly are most likely to be boys, since that is too much red in the comb for girls of that age. We can't see the lightest one in any of the pics so its possible that one could be a girl.
The hackle feathers are the feathers around the neck. In boys, these will start to develop as narrow and pointy, while in girls they will be round. The saddle feathers are those at the end of the back, before the tail. In boys those will also get point and will start to hang towards the ground, while in girls they will be rounded and will point towards the tail. These changes will start to occur when they are "teenagers".
