Free to a Good Home:
Lemon Orpington Roo

Will Ship To: Nowhere -- local only

CC is a 16 week old lemon orpington roo.  I hate to give him up, but can't keep roos in my town.  I'll happily drive a few hours to meet someone if I know he's going to a good home.  I've had him since he was 3 weeks old, and we've hand fed him and generally spoiled him as much as possible.  I really thought he was a girl until just a few weeks ago.  A younger pic of him is in my avatar.  He's had medicated chick feed for the first ~2 months or so, and organic feed after that, along with general treats from the garden (weeds, worms, broccoli, peas),  along with yogurt, oatmeal (when it was cooler out), fruit, leftovers.... that sort of thing.  Feel free to ask any other questions.

Hey Let me know if you still haven't found a new home for him by the middle of June - I have family that live in your state coming for a party - Maybe? I could get them to bring him to me in MI. He'd like my buff girls.

No one wants him... I was thinking I'd try craigslist but I'm afraid someone might take him for culling or fighting. If that's the case I'll cull him myself. He's such a great boy though:(

I could use him and give him some hens but Jersey is a bit of a drive. Nice bird.

Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton agreed on little publicly, but they did agree that when the public treasury becomes a public trough and the voters recognize that, they will send to government only those who promise them a bigger piece of the pie

Thanks for your post smile.png I appreciate it. He's just started doing the chicken dance, so maybe before he goes to someone one of my girls will have fertilized eggs...

Do you have a No Kill Humane Society? Ours takes in all kinds of animals. They would probably want you to give them a donation but could maybe help you find him a nice farm to go to. I know ours has gotten in dogs and cats from other states to re-home. It might be worth checking into. idunno.gif

Gorgeous boy!  If no one will take him, please contact me before sending him off to any shelters.  I live in NJ's sourland mountains on what was once a sheep farm.  My birds free range by day, and sleep in a locked coop at night.

I lost my favorite rooster recently (a rescued white cochin) and would love a sweet tempered rooster to take his place in the flock.
