Yep there are 7 eggs left. I feather sexed the lone chick (though I know it's not 100% accurate) and got that it is a pullet. We will see if that turns out to be right since DH has said since only one chick hatched we can keep it! yesss.gif

Happily married since 2006. Mommy to 3 boys! Currently own 5 EEs, 2 RIR, 1 NN, 1 Frizzle, 2 Ameracaunas,  2 Cochins, 2 Leghorns, 1 Polish, 1 EE/Polish mix, 3 goats, a dwarf hamster, and a pitbull/boxer mix.

Can anyone tell how many days development she is? Am I right thinking about 19 or ???

Okay! WE HAVE A PIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! wee.gifAt least one egg has pipped!!!!  It was sticking out a little and when I pushed back Ida's feathers I saw the little tiny hole/crack. Since Ida has been moving around so much the last few days I figured she cracked it against another egg, but (couldn't resist), when I picked it up veeeewy carefully and tapped, the little chick tapped back! Hurray!! So it's nice and toasty back under Ida now. I hope it busts outta there tonight!

Go little chickie go!!!! jumpy.gif I will keep ya'll updated! It's been very exciting reading everyone's chick status. Hope the hatching continues!

A question for you guys with broody hatched chicks... Are you planning to vaccinate against Marek's disease or any other vaccines?

I've never vaccinated any of my birds/chicks and haven't had any issues in the 8 years I've kept poultry. I know when you order chicks, they don't recommend it for smaller flocks. But I'm sure everyone has an opinion on this.

Chick starter is perfect. I use Purina Flock Raiser or Start and Grow. I don't believe either are medicated, but that's just me....mostly because my TSC doesn't carry a medicated feed and honestly I've never felt like I needed it.

Hope you have a good hatch!! fl.gif

ya.gifI've got CHICKS!!!!   I checked on Onyx before I went to bed last night - didn't see any pips.  This morning, we have four chicks.  I've got meetings the rest of today.  So I'm guessing that by the time I get home this evening, I'll have lots more.  She was sitting on 11 eggs - 10 EEs and 1 Wesummer/EE.  There was one yellow chick and three darker ones. jumpy.gif

I put on a glove to raise her up for a quick photo - just in case she was grumpy.  However, I think she was quite proud to show off her babies.
