I put on a glove to raise her up for a quick photo - just in case she was grumpy.  However, I think she was quite proud to show off her babies.

ya.gifCongrats Carol and Oynx!! Hurray! The chicks are precious! :) Hope the rest of the clutch hatches uneventfully! ya.gif

Still no chicks yet. I hope that isn't a bad thing. The egg that pipped last night was peeping this morning. I saw another egg that had pipped and is peeping and she had pushed one out the back that was cool to touch, but peeping- no pip yet though. I just pushed it back under her.

Ida has diarrhea this morning. YUCK. She just kind of lets it go where she is sitting. I dunno. I seem to be a magnet for chicken drama. Maybe it's because I'm such a control freak. I wiped her rear off and tried to pull the poo out as best as possible. I hope it won't hurt the babies if the eggs roll into it....

I'm concerned about picking her up to clean it out. Now that the babies are pipping I don't want to compromise anything??? idunno.gif

As long as the poop's not on the eggs I'd leave it. Or try to get the dirty stuff out without bothering her too much. Gosh, this lady's making us wait! caf.gif

I know, right?! But then again, Ida kind of marches to her own little drum even when she isn't broody. Still, I am excited to at least hear peeps this morning. Sure hope those babies have what it takes to bust out of Ida's leather eggs.

I just hope everything goes well for you. Let us know when you see the first little chick!  How exciting, I feel like I am watching my own eggs all over again!

WE HAVE A BABY!!  Baby #1 has hatched!!!!!!!!!! Can you tell I'm happy? celebrate.gif It's a precious little chipmunk baby, almost looks blue! Still hoping for a little black chick to pop out. Oh my gosh, this is sooo amazing!!! Several other eggs have pipped, and there is peeping!!

These are going to be some tough babies after having to deal with this crazy human for the last 3 weeks. hahaha

Gonna check for more later.... pop.gif
