I've got CHICKS!!!! I checked on Onyx before I went to bed last night - didn't see any pips. This morning, we have four chicks. I've got meetings the rest of today. So I'm guessing that by the time I get home this evening, I'll have lots more. She was sitting on 11 eggs - 10 EEs and 1 Wesummer/EE. There was one yellow chick and three darker ones.
I put on a glove to raise her up for a quick photo - just in case she was grumpy. However, I think she was quite proud to show off her babies.
Congrats Carol and Oynx!! Hurray! The chicks are precious! :) Hope the rest of the clutch hatches uneventfully!
"Why yes, I was raised in a barn."
1 Silver Laced Wyandotte, 2 Naked Necks, 1 Cochin, 1 Easter Egger, 7 barnyard bantams, 3 Rouens, Pheobe the Aussie, Wally - Nermal - Bea - and Sassy the cats....and now a whole 'herd' of new chickens: chantaclers, orloffs, wyandottes, rocks, sussex, new hamps, and brahmas, along with Pippen and Squeak the button quails.

It's a precious little chipmunk baby, almost looks blue! Still hoping for a little black chick to pop out. Oh my gosh, this is sooo amazing!!! Several other eggs have pipped, and there is peeping!!
